Description: Mid Century ELENA HOSTESSWARE Ceramic Soup Tureen RARE Hand Painted by Eva Zeisel. Hall China company, MADE IN USA in the 1950s.RARE-Mid Century Soup Tureen Handpainted by ELENA for HOSTESSWARE-circa 1950s. Through my research it appears that Eva Zeisel designed this small artist line for Hall China. This piece is featured in white glazed stoneware with gold trim. There are hand painted fancy roosters, eggs and vegetables on the lid and around the tureen base. This piece has a cut out in the lid to accommodate a ladel. There are two different handles to give ease for passing.Approx. measurements: 15" from handle end to end, 6.5" in height (with lid on), 9" in diameter for tureen and 4" in depth (with lid off). Capacity - 2.5 Quarts/ 10 cups. EXCELLENT CONDITION - appears barely used. No chips/cracks/crazing etc. very minimal wear on gold trim.Definitely a conversation piece as it is hard to find, Rare.
