Description: Offering a Japanese wind up called COWBOY MONKEY Made in Japan, trademark is the letter "Y" in a tri-circle formation. I do not know the full name of the company. If you know, pass it along and I will include it in the text. Circa late 1950's in very good operating condition. I suspect that the cylinder attached is not original. The right hand is missing and I suspect a wire rope was attached to it? This is how I purchased it decades ago. I've been trying to find an image of this particular wind up, but I have not been able to find one. The tin cylinder attaches perfectly to the rotating rod. I thought that the fast rotation of the cylinder would create an optical illusion of a rope-like effect. I suspect that there was some kind of rope attached to the monkey and to its missing right hand. Condition: the box is in excellent condition. The original cardboard collar to hold the monkey in place is still in the box. The materials that make up the fur and outfit are near new condition. The hat, face and left gun holding hand are made of litho tin. Windup spring is strong, in never played condition - movement is excellent. In storage for decades.
