Description: A very heavy and deeply cast bronze of an ox with a saddle of reeds that is sadly missing its lid with a rider. The casting has considerable detail. The cast bronze has a dark applied patina with a lighter patina on the saddle. There are holes on the underside for the casting process. There is a hole on the muzzle for a cord. The bronze is very heavy. There is a metal oval behind the saddle. This might be a hallmark, but I don’t recognize it. MEASUREMENTS 7 ½” (19.0 cm) long x 2 1/8” (5.4 cm) wide x 4 ½” (11.4 cm) tall. Weighs 2 lbs 1.7 oz (955 g) CONDITION The lid is missing but it still has a good classic look. The metal has a rich dark golden patina with a few oxidization spots. There are no breaks, cracks, or dents. An incense burner that you can use. It is very heavy and could even be used as a bookend.
