Description: This is a custom 12" figure of fictional western TV character, Josh Randall from the tv show "Wanted Dead or Alive". Josh Randall was a bounty hunter in the old West played by Steve McQueen. The thirty minute tv series Wanted Dead or Alive ran three seasons on CBS from 1958-1961. Randall was not your typical bounty hunter. He tried to bring in his man (or sometimes a woman) alive. He shot only when necessary which he did very well with his shortened 1892 Winchester carbine (called a mare's leg). Randall had a special holster to accommodate his unique weapon. Randall was very fast on the draw. as a back-up Josh carried a derringer behind his belt buckle. Another area that Randall differed from the typical bounty hunter was his compassion for the people he was after or the individuals he met along the way. Many times he donated his fee or used it to help someone he encountered. When Josh would capture someone that turned out to be innocent he would go to great lengths to help them prove their innocence. There were a lot of interesting characters that Josh Randall crossed paths with throughout his travels. The story quality was very good, especially for a thirty minute show. This was one of the coolest shows on tv when it was on. you can sometimes find this series on dvd or channels that run old westerns or tv series. While this figure does not look exactly like the character or the actor, there is a bit of a resemblance. the holster and belt are custom made with a custom (from stevo) metal "mares leg". PLEASE NOTE-there is a cardboard spacer in the hat to hold it better-you can also display without the spacer. sold as is. stand included.
