Description: Copper & Modern Age Lot! This is a Mid to Higher-grade lot of (6) DC's Justice Society of America Vol.1 & 2s) This mini-series allowed DC to return their first ongoing super-hero group, the Justice Society of America. Originally appearing in All-Star Comics #3-4, this team brought together star characters from All-American Comics and Detective Comics (published together under the DC imprint). Early team members included the Golden Age Flash, Green Lantern, the Sandman, the Spectre, Doctor Fate, Atom, Hawkman, and others. Later, Wonder Woman would join (as the team’s secretary!), followed by a second female, the Black Canary. Together as the Justice Society of America, these heroes would enjoy an eleven-year run (outlasting most of their titles). In this eight-issue mini-series, the heroes are back again, trying to stop an old foe and halt a strange energy creature that threatens to blacken the nation’s cities. Spurred on by the success of the Justice Society of America mini-series, DC began this ongoing series featuring the adventures of Golden Age greats Hawkman, Hourman, Black Canary, Green Lantern, Flash, Atom, Starman, and the Sandman. While many readers welcomed the return of DC’s first super-team, this 1992 series was not a commercial success. It was canceled after only ten issues (two more than the mini-series) due to poor sales. We provide up to 24 large-picture images of our lots.
