Description: Our story begins with climbing Kilimanjaro itself. While in Tanzania, the Arusha region, I became fascinated by the coffee plantations at the foothills of the mountain, the coffee production, the people, the culture, and the taste of the coffee itself. Always wanting to find my own coffee for roasting, I was always in search of the perfect bean. Tanzania has the perfect climate for growing coffee and the coffee grown on Kilimanjaro is especially good. Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, is a sleeping volcano and holds the title for the world's tallest standalone peak, towering at approximately 6000m above sea level. The mountain's peaks are adorned with everlasting snow and majestic glaciers. As we descend to the foothills, we encounter fields of corn and wheat. However, as we ascend once more, we enter the coffee zone, which spans from 1000 to 1800 meters.
