The career of Yamamoto Eijiro, as revealed from this document and the Cabinet Printing Bureau's "Staff Directory," is as follows: / Born in 1867 as the eldest son of Yamamoto Shigekichi, a carpenter in Takashima-cho, Yokohama. In the winter of 1895, after the First Sino-Japanese War, he worked as an architectural employee (31 years old) building the Qing Dynasty's Hamhaiwei Arsenal, and in the 1900s, although his affiliation is unknown, he continued to hold the title of "official." His first appearance as a communications engineer in the "Staff Directory" was in the Meiji 35 edition. He started out as a concurrent employee with a rank of seventh grade, and his name disappeared from the Ministry of Communications at least in the Meiji 45 edition, when he was ranked third grade. This is thought to be an elevation drawing of the Eirakucho red-light district in Yokohama. ● "Certificate of Diligent Attendance" - A certificate of commendation awarded to employees working on the construction of the Qing Dynasty's Hamhaiwei Arsenal in the winter of 1895. ● Four personal documents of Yamamoto Eijiro. - Marriage registration, birth registration of eldest son, birth registration of second son, and an extract from the Yamamoto family register.
