Congratulations! (signed) Dale Carnegie Outer edges, corners, and binding show wear, as pictured. Pages are yellow but in good condition. No writing or dog-eared pages. Excellent story of Lincoln's youth, the trials he faced in losing his mother and betrothed, Ann Rutledge, and how/why he had so much compassion for the down-trodden. Interesting story of how he came to be engaged to Mary Todd. The most ironic part of this story is that if Lincoln had married Ann and not Mary Todd, he would have likely never been our president for Mary Todd was the force behind his success. However, despite his rise to the seat of President, he faced a life of sadness for loss of Ann then later, his boy, Willie. Little discussion, if any, on the Spiritualism aspect or how Mary Todd attempted to reach her dead child (and husband) through mediums. This story details his entire life, from his humble beginnings to the rise back on his funeral train, Carnegie details it all with great research and keen awareness. Unique copy of this book, could be "awarded" to anyone (great gift for a young student!) since the name space is blank.
