Then, he was motivated by the number of poor quality handmade jobs - similar to his own early attempts - and alongside a number of his peers in the industry, to recognise that tattooing could decline from the art form it deserved to be if its craft wasn't shared properly. This motivation led to his opening the first professional tattoo academy to demystify the craft.
