Description: . Look, I know that $8.99 shipping for only five comics is ridiculous -- but "floppy" comics can't legally be sent by the cheap Media Mail rate, so blame the post office. Your best bet is to win more than one of my comics auctions in order to fill up the $8.99 Flat Rate Priority Mail envelope you already will be buying for this auction. That envelope (with cardboard surrounding the books) can hold up to 15 comics. Or go really nuts, and fill a Flat Rate Priority Mail Medium-Size Box with up to 60 comics for a flat $18.00 to any US address! And now, back to the auction in progress: Photos above always show the actual comics that you will get from me, because I never use "stock photos." Please excuse any reflections or focus issues. Having all of my comics professionally graded by CGC would cost a fortune and take forever, and I don't have either the time or patience -- but if you do, nearly all of my books definitely are "grading worthy!" My grading scale is Near Mint (looks like it was just bought, any flaws are extremely minor), Very Fine (almost Near Mint, but just misses), Fine (misses by a little more), Very Good (shows evidence of handling and has notable flaws, but none are disastrously awful), Good (more flawed, still a solid book for reading but that's about it), Fair (big problems) and Poor (horrible condition, trash it after reading it). -----Description----- This auction is for five Marvel Comics featuring the character Machine Man, all with art by Conan artist Barry Smith (who was going by Barry Windsor-Smith at this point in his career). Details: MACHINE MAN issue 1 (of a four-issue limited series), October 1984, NEAR MINT. Cover by Barry Windsor-Smith, interior art by Herb Trimpe (breakdowns) and Barry Windsor-Smith (finishes and color). MACHINE MAN issue 2, November 1984, NEAR MINT. Same credits as issue 1. MACHINE MAN issue 4, January 1985, NEAR MINT. Cover by Barry Windsor-Smith, who also is credited with "Plot/Art/Color" inside (no Herb Trimpe breakdowns this issue). MACHINE MAN 2020 issue 1, August 1994, FINE condition (small soft "bumps" to both bottom corners, and some impressions on back cover including spine indents and a couple of diagonal creases at both bottom corners). This series reprinted the original four-issue miniseries, with issues one and two appearing in this comic and issues three and four in the next issue. Note that this series did not have any ads, and featured new covers by Barry Windsor-Smith. I have no idea why it was re-named "Machine Man 2020" instead of remaining simply "Machine Man!" MACHINE MAN 2020 issue 2, September 1994, FINE condition (fewer cover impressions than issue 1). Reprints issues 3 and 4 of the original four-issue mini-series, with a new cover by Barry Windsor-Smith. No ads. You'll love them! Any questions, just ask! ANOTHER GREAT COMICS AUCTION, FROM A PET-FREE, SMOKE-FREE HOME! -----Shipping Info for All Comic Auctions----- Up to 15 comics will ship for a flat $8.99 to any US address, in a Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope with cardboard surrounding the books for protection. YOUR BEST SHIPPING DEAL would be to win enough of my auctions to fill this envelope, which can hold up to 15 comics. Even better, I can get up to 60 comics in a Priority Medium-Size Flat-Rate Box for a flat $18.00 to any US address. IMPORTANT: If you win more than one of my auctions, DO NOT PAY the individual invoices eBay will send, because they will not show the shipping discount. Instead, let me know, and I will send you a revised, lower invoice through eBay! International shipping will be higher, and only through eBay's Global Shipping Program. Comics will be bagged together, not individually bagged and boarded.
