OFFSET BRIDGE is a replacement bridge part for offset guitars such as the Jazzmaster and Jaguar type. Since its inception in 2008, it has earned the trust of touring musicians around the world. Designed by skilled craftsmen, the brand's unique design reduces the buzz noise caused by traditional saddle designs. Also, no matter how hard you play, you don't have to worry about strings falling out of the saddle. All models feature a brass saddle with high lubricity, hard chrome plating. High-hardness and lubrication plating minimizes friction with the strings and reduces string wear and tuning misalignment due to arming. It is also characterized by the fact that it is less likely to wear on the saddle side than stainless steel or unprocessed brass material. The Mastery Bridge is equipped with a unique (patented) two-part saddle not found on other bridges. For a width of 52 mm for 1~6 strings, we use 4 octave screws instead of 6. This eliminates the fear of interference between the screw tip on the front side and the bridge plate and strings on the rear side. In addition, moving parts (swivels) are used for the connection between each octave screw and saddle. Since each screw moves independently, precise octave tuning is possible even with 4 screws. The grooves on each string are cut deeply, so you don't have to worry about the strings falling off during the performance. Also, both sides of the groove are fan open so as not to interfere with the string vibration. Conventional bridges require a tension of about 8 kg for each saddle, but the Mastery Bridge has a structure in which tension of about 23 kg or more is applied to both saddles. Due to the increase in tension, vibration is transmitted directly to the string ~ body, so whether it is raw sound or connected to an amplifier, you can feel a noticeable change in sound from before replacement. IT ALSO SUPPORTS HEAVY-GAUGE STRINGS SUCH AS THE FENDER BASS VI TYPE, AND CAN BE USED AS IS FOR LEFTY-MODEL GUITARS. The saddle part has a curved structure according to the R (radius) of the fingerboard. If the curve is larger than 7.25", it can be easily adjusted to fit. Guitar manufacturers use CNC to manufacture fretboards to achieve a standard R, but it is the curve at the top of the fret, not the fretboard, that greatly influences the performance. This is something that gradually becomes uneven due to wear during playing. As the shape of the neck material or fingerboard changes due to changes in climate, the frets themselves can also be deformed. This also affects the setting of R. Also, since the R is slightly different depending on the gauge of the strings, it is recommended to adjust the saddle accordingly. Some players may want to set the bass strings higher to match powerful play. String height adjustment is also easy, so it is also recommended for players looking for severe settings. Compared to the conventional structure, in which the saddle is divided into strings, the design also reduces noise such as vibration and resonance due to the stability of the saddle. Taking into account the fine-tuning of the setting and long-term use, it is important to have a structure that can be adjusted in this way. One of the characteristics of the saddle is the movable parts (swivel) mounted on both saddles. By adopting a swivel at the connection between the saddle and octave screws, the structure is such that each of the four screws moves independently. In addition, the hexagonal wrench type octave screw has a self-locking structure with a screw thread. The reduction of the octave screws to four is intended to prevent the strings from coming into contact with the screws or the plate under the saddle during play. In addition, this structure makes it easy to adjust the octave even when the strings are tense. Unplated brass, steel, and stainless steel saddles can gradually chip away at the grooves due to arming, causing sound clogging and string breakage. Arming also creates frictional heat between the saddle and the strings, which can cause the metal contained in the strings to expand thermally and cause mistuning. The saddle of the Mastery Bridge was made of soft, warm-sounding brass and hard chrome plating on top. This plating is used to reduce frictional heat and wear in piston rings, firearms, aircraft landing gear, bearings, etc., and is unprecedented for any part brand. By suppressing frictional heat, tuning deviation due to heat is reduced, and smoother operation is realized. It delivers accurate performance with a sense of stability over a long period of time. Traditional offset guitar bridges have a floating structure, and the bridge is always in contact with the body only at the tips of the two height adjustment imo screws. The Mastery Bridge, on the other hand, fits snugly into the hole (thimble) on the body side, and the bridge, thimble, and body are closely interlocked. If it is a USA model, it can be vintage or current. In addition, this structure eliminates the need to worry about the bridge being misaligned during playing or when changing strings. The combination of this feature and the unique saddle structure causes a remarkable change in vibration transmission to the string ~ body, and it is possible to obtain wonderful resonance even with raw sound. Since the position of the thimble varies slightly depending on the individual guitar, the position of the post can be slightly adjusted by loosening the screws at both ends of the bridge. In addition, there is a hole in the screw that leads to the back, and the height of the bridge can be adjusted as it is by inserting a hex wrench. Like other parts, the screws and posts are made of stainless steel material, so there is no risk of corrosion. The bridge plate (patented) is carved out of a lump of 304 stainless steel, a non-ferrous metal, by water jet processing by CNC. It is then tumbled to remove burrs and sharp corners. Then, using a sander, buffing the corners of the plate is applied by hand. After bending to get the correct shape, laser engrave the logo and identification number. The uniquely designed bridge plate and saddle prevents the strings from coming into contact with the bridge plate (or octave screws) that tends to occur on offset and bigsby models. The M1 Mastery Bridge can be attached to a variety of FENDER USA guitars, from current to vintage. The M2 has almost the same shape as the M1, but the mounting post is a slightly thicker millimeter size assuming a Japan model. The mounting post of the M1 has an inner diameter of 0.310 inches and is large enough to fit a USA manufacturer. The M2 post, on the other hand, has an inner diameter of 0.315 inches and is large enough to fit a Japan.
