MINGHETTI Bologna Italy Luster ceramic vase 1900 Liberty Venetian characters

Description: MEASURES: Height: 11,22 inch; Belly diameter: 5,9 inchCONDITIONS:Excellent, only two very little chips, one on the mouth and one on the belly, see the photos. Item description:Beautiful enamelled ceramic vase, entirely hand painted and glazed. Finished in manganese yellow metallic luster. Made by the famous and important ceramist of the 1800s Angelo Minghetti of Bologna, signed under the base. Full Liberty style, with beautiful decorations featuring characters in eighteenth-century Venetian costumes. The manganese yellow metallic luster is fabulous, not easy to render in photos but if you look closely at the reflections I think you can grasp it. Useful information for the evaluation of the object:In the last photos we have put some biographical notes on Angelo Minghetti (they are in italian, you can find the translation just below this description) and also the photos of various objects auctioned at very high prices, testifying to the importance and value of the works of this Italian ceramist and artist. In particular it must be said that this vase is very unusual and rare, very few of this kind made by Minghetti can be found. Information on artist and/or manufacturer:ANGELO MINGHETTIThe "Minghetti" artistic ceramics manufacture was founded by Angelo Minghetti (1822-1885) in 1858 in a tiny kiln for crockery in Montagnola, near Bologna. In 1869 Angelo Minghetti presented some of his works at the Exhibition of Agriculture and Industry in Bologna and the following year he took part in the Rome Art Exhibition. In 1873 he was present at the World Exhibition in Vienna. A few years later Angelo Minghetti was invited by an Imola pottery manufacturer, Angelo Bucci, to move to his larger and better equipped furnace. In 1877, after leaving Imola, Minghetti returned to Bologna and opened a shop in Porta San Vitale. In the same year the manufacture is present, with some pieces, at the National Exhibition of Fine Arts in Naples and the following year at the Universal Exhibition in Paris. In 1880 the factory participated in the National Exhibition of Fine Arts in Turin, in 1881 in Milan and in 1883 in Rome. In 1885 Angelo Minghetti died, the management of the factory passed to his sons Gennaro and Arturo, and the factory took part, in 1888, in the Italian Exposition in London; in 1898 at the Turin Sacred Art Exhibition; in 1899 at the Bologna Architecture Exhibition; in 1900 at the Universal Exposition in Paris. In 1902 the factory participated in the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative Art in Turin and in 1904 in the World Exhibition in Saint Louis and in the Italian Exhibition in London. From 1906 to 1916 the direction of the manufacture was taken over by Gennaro's son, Aurelio, under whose leadership the factory increased the number of employees, production reached its maximum increase and the number of works sent to foreign markets increased. In 1908 the factory took the name of "Angelo Minghetti & Figli Artistic Ceramics". In these same years the young Guglielmo Sansoni, known as Tato, trained as a ceramist at the factory, and among the collaborators of the first decades of the century we also remember Alcino Cesari, Arturo Colombarini, Alfonso Matteuzzi, Luigi Santi and, occasionally, the sculptor Cleto Tomba. Between 1917 and 1918 Aurelio Minghetti transformed the factory from a limited partnership into a cooperative, inviting all workers, both artists and workers, to participate and from 1920 the company took the name of "Società Anonima Cooperativa Ceramiche Artistiche Minghetti". In 1926 the ownership of the factory passed into the hands of Aurelio's brothers, Angelo, Margherita, Itala and cousins Laura and Eleonora. Since 1930 no one more than the family appears among the owners of the company but some of the heirs of the founders continue to lend their work there. In these years the management of the company is of Alfonso Matteuzzi who retired in 1940, replaced by Alcino Cesari, who remained in office until 1962. After World War II, production was modernized, often reaching high-level results. In the 1950s, the factory was based in via della Rampa 4 in Bologna. The company remained active until 1967. ENTER OUR EBAY SHOP.PORCELAINS, CERAMICS, TERRACOTTE, BRONZE, PAINTINGS, FURNITURE, GLASS AND MUCH MORE AS, FOR EXAMPLE: OUR COMMERCIAL POLICYAware of operating in the eBay market, our prices are often lower than the real value of the object, as often documented in our descriptions, and also lower than the prices at which very similar objects are offered on other online art sales platforms and antiques. At the same time, eBay reciprocates with the possibility of selling a high quantity of objects, so our commercial policy is to earn little for the single object, but sell a lot and therefore earn on the quantity. In fact, the asking price is always as low as possible, considering how much the item was paid for and the eBay commissions (for the sale, payment and any currency exchange: from a minimum of 15% to a maximum of 21% , according to the country in which the advertisement was made). For each object there may be multiple advertisements in different countries: USA, Italy, France, United Kingdom, etc. Any price differences are due only to changes in the exchange rate of the various currencies between when we made the advertisement and when you see it. REMEMBER TO PUT ME IN THE FOLLOWING SELLERS LISTFor any additional information or clarification we are at your complete disposal, so contact us via message here on eBay. SHIPPING WORLDWIDE - RETURN ALWAYS ACCEPTEDThe cost of packaging is also calculated in the shipping cost, and everything has increased by 19% because both ebay and paypal also take fees on the shipping cost. OUR SHIPMENTS:.Our shipments cost a little more than the average, but they are all shipments with professional packaging. Double box with a lot of bubble wrap around the object and a lot of soft material in the large cavities on all sides between the two boxes. This means that the package is much larger and heavier and therefore the cost of shipping increases, not to mention all the work necessary to carry out a similar packaging and the cost of the various materials used.
