Description: Orange Bird of Paradise, Strelitzia reginaeTropical Crane Flower(10+ Seeds) Strelitzia Reginae, commonly known as the Bird of Paradise, is a striking and iconic plant species celebrated for its unique and ornate bird-like flowers and bold foliage. Native to South Africa, this tropical plant has gained global popularity as a choice for both indoor and outdoor ornamental use. The seeds produce a very unusual, yet prized flower. They grow into a long-lasting 4 foot plant, and the Bird of Paradise flowers are similar in appearance to a bird's head. The center bloom stalk is 3 feet long and the multicolored bloom is 6 - 8 inches in length. Seed Germination Procedures1. Remove that orange fluff from the seeds. 2. Soak the seeds in water or 3% hydrogen peroxide for 24 hours. 3. You can use the tissue germination method or the greenhouse method. If using the tissue germination method, wrap the seeds in a wet paper towel, then put them in a Ziploc baggie or Tupperware container to seal in the moisture. If using the greenhouse method, sow the seeds 1/4"-1/2" deep in moist soil (we recommend coco fiber soil pods like the ones in our shop, but indoor potting mix works, as long as it's sterile!) 4. Cover with a humidity dome or Ziploc baggie to seal in moisture. You should see condensation on the humidity dome after an hour or so, if not, it's likely not humid enough in the setup. 5. Make sure the soil is moist, but not soggy, otherwise the seeds may rot away or just not germinate. 6. Place seeds on a heat mat or warm spot that stays consistently at >70F. 7. Keep the seeds away from direct sunlight. A windowsill with bright, indirect light works. Grow lights can also be used, since temperatures can fluctuate close to a window. 8. It can take up to 6 months for the seeds to sprout, so don't give up on them! Check the soil/paper towels about once a week to make sure the soil stays moist. Under best conditions, the seeds can sprout as quickly as 2-3 weeks, but some just naturally take longer.
