Description: Up for sale is a very nice original KABAR fighting knife. This knife is one of the earlier models featuring the correct stapled leather scabbard. This knife was modified by the GI, this GI replaced his standard issue pommel cap with another sort of cap. His knife was most likely damaged in combat and he was handy enough to fix the knife himself with what materials he was able to find. This GI also took the time to carve his initials into the handle of the knife, as well as the reverse of the scabbard. Pieces like this just speak to you when you see a name or set of initials carved into the piece! Overall the condition is very good, knife is stamped “KABAR” on the ricasso.
