Description: MEASURES:Height: 7,68 inch; Width: 16,14 inch ; Depth: 8,27 inch ; Weight: 6,89 lbsCONDITIONS:Very good general condition. Some chipping on the four feet of the vase, in the shape of lion's paws and a small lack on the enamel of the lower lateral edge of the vase, see the photos carefully. Description of the object:Wonderful vase, centerpiece in vitrified majoliced ceramic, entirely modeled by hand on a lathe, finished with rich metallic lustres in shades of ruby red and Sienese gold, entirely hand decorated with two different characters on the two central sides of the vase, both depicted with a text in their hands, furthermore there is, on the back of one of the two characters, a parchment with the writing "Ezech... - ...iello" probably Ezekiel (one of the major prophets of the Bible), and the final part of the name of another character that we do not know. On the sides of the two central decorations, four large griffins are depicted, all in light bas-relief, and two harpies on the other two shorter sides, entirely hand decorated with brush tip. The four legs of the vase are shaped like a lion's paw. Signed under the base with an ancient mark in blue under the glaze, of the Rubboli factory, made by Paolo Rubboli, its founder and greatest exponent, in the late 19th century.Useful information for the evaluation of the object:We have put, in the photos just below this description, some auction results of the factory, with maximum peaks for a large ceramic plate of €1,300-1,500. Notice how two jugs, similar in color and lustre, but with much simpler and less valuable decorations than ours, are listed at €1,000 - €1,300 while for another small vase, only 17 centimeters high, the estimate is €500-600. Finally we have put a last vase in the shape of a two-handled chalice, proposed on 1stdibs at over €2,600, all to give an idea of the value of Rubboli ceramics. Consider that many of the pieces used as examples are more recent than our vase, and were not made by Paolo Rubboli, founder of the factory and its main and most important exponent, but by his sons or other artists who collaborated with it. Finally, our vase, in our opinion, is more beautiful and of higher quality than most of the objects used as examples. A real gem for art lovers and collectors.Information on the artist and/or manufacturer: Paolo Rubboli (1838 – 1890) was an Italian ceramist and craftsman. He was active in Gualdo Tadino and is remembered for having revived, in the 19th century, the technique of gold and ruby red lustres brought to great artistic levels by Mastro Giorgio Andreoli between the 15th and 16th centuries. In 1870, he founded "Rubboli", an artistic ceramics factory operating in Gualdo Tadino, considered one of the most important Gualdo factories still active. In the last photos we have put additional historical information on the manufacture and biographical information on Paolo Rubboli, for those who want to learn more, with many of the brands used including ours, used as written in the notes, before 1920, one of the first and oldest brands of the manufacture. ENTER OUR EBAY SHOP PORCELAINS, CERAMICS, TERRACOTTE, BRONZE, PAINTINGS, FURNITURE, GLASS AND MUCH MORE AS, FOR EXAMPLE: ..OUR COMMERCIAL POLICYAware of operating in the eBay market, our prices are often lower than the real value of the object, as often documented in our descriptions, and also lower than the prices at which very similar objects are offered on other online art sales platforms and antiques. At the same time, eBay reciprocates with the possibility of selling a high quantity of objects, so our commercial policy is to earn little for the single object, but sell a lot and therefore earn on the quantity. In fact, the asking price is always as low as possible, considering how much the item was paid for and the eBay commissions (for the sale, payment and any currency exchange: from a minimum of 15% to a maximum of 21% , according to the country in which the advertisement was made). For each object there may be multiple advertisements in different countries: USA, Italy, France, United Kingdom, etc. Any price differences are due only to changes in the exchange rate of the various currencies between when we made the advertisement and when you see it. SHIPPING WORLDWIDE - RETURN ALWAYS ACCEPTEDThe cost of packaging is also calculated in the shipping cost, and everything has increased by 19% because both ebay and paypal also take fees on the shipping cost. OUR SHIPMENTS:..Our shipments cost a little more than the average, but they are allshipments with professional packaging. Double box with a lot of bubble wrap around the object and a lot of soft material in the large cavities on all sides between the two boxes. This means that the package is much larger and heavier and therefore the cost of shipping increases, not to mention all the work necessary to carry out a similar packaging and the cost of the various materials used...
