Description: A beautiful collectible set of U.S. postage stamps issued in 1972 to honor the Peace Corps. The Peace Corps was proposed by John F. Kennedy in 1961 and founded the same year. The goals of the Peace Corps are: To help the people of interested countries in meeting their need for trained men and women. To help promote a better understanding of Americans on the part of people served. To help promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans. These stamps have never been used and are as fresh as the day they were sold at the Post Office almost 50 years ago! Suitable for framing, they would make a great gift to anyone in the Peace Corps or interested in the history of this fine group of volunteers and is a must have for anyone who collects JFK memorabilia! Look in my other auctions for blocks of stamps of other historical significance including a stamp block dedicated to the memory of JFK and the eternal flame from 1964! All stamps are Mint Never Hinged. Shipping is $1.00 for first class mail. Additional stamp block auctions won, paid for in one COMBINED transaction and shipped at the same time are only 25 cents extra per auction (sheets and booklets not included), with a maximum shipping charge of $5.00, no matter how many auctions you win. Please pay for all of your auctions in one payment. All payments are to be in US currency only. I send stamps out when I receive your payment or the day after if the mail has already gone out.
