Description: The beetles are toxic, do not feed them to your animals or eat them yourself! Besides that the larvae are safe + mighty nutritious and delicious for a variety of creatures. My bettas enjoy these as a special meal within their varied food rotation, as do my khuli loaches, just gotta make sure I pre-sink the larvae for them specially! Related to the often used mealworm who become darkling beetles, these guys are flightless and happily live breaking down their peanuts, wheat bran/oatmeal substrate, and a fruit or veggie water source. These little buddies are mighty easy and can tolerate pretty high temps. They are also considered an agricultural pest so be mindful in ensuring they stay in their culture container and you dispose of waste carefully by freezing/flushing it. Your starter will include several of each developmental stage/plus some old substrate and an old peanut or so that likely has eggs! It will be contained in whatever kind of small recycled container I have available atm to reduce waste! ♻️ Here’s the commonly recommended care guide: https://www.amazonasmagazine.com/2020/11/27/peanut-beetle-larvae-the-easiest-and-most-nutritious-live-food/ Beetles ship Monday - Wednesday
