Description: PICKARD HAND PAINTED ARTIST SIGNED DAISY GOLD LINED PLATE CIRCA 1903-1905 We have the privilege of offering you this gorgeous Pickard, hand painted, daisies, gold lined plate from the early 20th Century. Circa 1903-1905 and measures 8 7/8" diameter. Bears two back stamps, one is mark #4: 1903-1905 9/16" dia.light brown to very dark reddish brown decal. Used at the carriage barn studio and the second mark is the Rosenthal Bavaria crown mark. The plate is artist signed, Emil J.T. Fischer(EF, Fisch, Fish, Fisher), 1903-1905. Features hand painted daisies on a multi-colored background with high gold lining around the plate. This is in beautiful and great condition, with absolutely no chips, hairlines or cracks. What a great addition for any Pickard collector. Just beautiful! On all of our items, insurance is mandatory and is included in the Handling Cost. As most people know, these pieces become more beautiful with age because of movements and distress in the woods, some having restoration. Spindle turnings will not be uniform and swell unevenly with age. Wood tends to get stress fractures on support systems and where wide board construction is used. Eighty-five percent of 18th Century veneers have had some restoration during their life. Pine secondary woods might fracture, making overlays and veneers have the same fracture lines. Old finishes might alligator, fade, fish-eye or darken depending on where the pieces were placed. All of these are desired by a true collector and gives it personality. Do not expect these early pieces to be like new. These pieces age gracefully just as we do, giving them unique personality. We do our best to describe and photograph all items thoroughly, but handle a quantity of pieces every day and might miss something. All these antique pieces are sold as is.
