Description: This is an antique cover, a chromolithograph print (color lithograph) from PUCK, an old political humor magazine published in 1881. Puck was the first successful humor magazine in the United States consisting of political satire expressed in colorful cartoons and caricatures that focused on the major, mostly political, issues of the day. It was published from 1871 until 1918. Puck was quite popular in its day, and is very popular among political cartoon collectors today. This series of PUCK cartoons are clever, beautifully illustrated and provide an historical picture of the state of politics in 1881. It is an authentic old cover from the aforementioned magazine and NOT A MODERN REPRODUCTION.The visible part of the print, including the white border (if any) is about 9" x 12 1/2". Matted the print measures 12" x 16".
