This helps mitigate the potential of rusting. Furthermore, the rubber stoppers prevent paint damage to the upright poles and helps reduce grinding noises when metal rubs on metal. The arms are height adjustable. First, find a comfortable spot you can lift from and make sure they are at the same height level on each side. Then, use the pins to help lock onto the upright poles.
