Description: For sale is a Abstract Modernist oil on board painting created by listed Spanish painter, Ramon Prats in 1966. Actual Board Painting measures approximately 23" by 32" (Total Painting with Frame is approximately 26" x 35"and is signed "Prats, 66". The painting is in very good condition with minor wear on the painting and the frame itself (PleaseSee Photos). Ramon Prats (American, b. Spain, 1928-2003) developed his talent for painting while he was a child. At age 15, he was appointed the official artist and illustrator for El País newspaper in Havana, Cuba, where his family lived at the time. He studied at the School of Visual Arts in Santo Domingo and at the School of Graphic Arts in Havana, Cuba. Upon completing his studies in Cuba, Prats moved to New York, where he studied at the Art Students League* of New York and exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art. Prats worked with Jose Vela Zanetti on a mural in the lobby of the UN Headquarters. In 1956 Prats moved to Mexico, where he was instrumental in the development of modern art in painting and sculpture until his passing in 2003.
