Sargent/Corbin made similar designs but the faceplate tab was turned 90 degrees. Use from coars to fine in ascenting order, else scratches. Concave and convex faceplates were used to ensure door closing alignment and discontinued in the very early 1900's, then the designs were flat face, less ornate (and less expensive to manufacture). Catalog pix of Mallory and Wheeler locks with concave/convex faceplates shown for reference only and shows a unusual 45 degree cut of faceplates, but does show the faceplate hoizontal tab. The pre-1900's lock manufacturers issued catalogs but many chose not to do so. It wasn't until the 1900's that catalogs became mandatory as competition was aggressive.
