Description: Up for bid is a very rare piece of art ephemera by the acclaimed German Surrealist artist MAX ERNST. This announcement card was designed by the artist for an exhibition which took place at the Julien Levy Gallery (NYC) from April 24th - May 8th, 1944. This offset lithograph card was printed on a medium weight stock, and measures 3.125" x 5" (8 x 12.7 cm). The back of the card is blank with a small amount of random ink deposits as shown. Guaranteed to be authentic and comes from a well documented 2018 Julien Levy estate sale (Connecticut).
