Banner Toys - U.S. Mail - Use Air Mail...Air Parcel Post - toy truck, in really nice condition. Pressed steel and lithographed with 3 original steel wheels and 1 replacement wooden wheel, the truck is 11.75 inches long x 4 inches wide. The paint is rich and presents very well. The truck is remarkably mostly free of rust. The underside of the vehicle is in great shape, and even inside the truck box body is clean (see pics!). This model had only a single rear axel, the tabs with holes in front of the rear wheels are used on the tow truck version of this body, where a shaft is located as part of the winch mechanism. Banner Toy Co. opened in the 40's & closed in the 60's. Banner is well known for their plastic toys, however they produced a line of pressed steel trucks in the late 40's (that never achieved the popularity of Marx & Wyandotte) which was discontinued in the early 50's.
