The painting is done in a matte finish and consists of a stand of trees against the water done in black against a deep blue deep ground to depict a midnight scene. The bowl is finished with a lavish gold interior. Challinor was an artist who produced premium quality work and displayed considerable artistic talent in color and design during his career with Pickard. Truly a gorgeous and rare piece.
