Description: Incredibly RARE antique bat-printed, pearlware “Faith, Hope and Charity” Teacup and Saucer attributed to Adam Buck, circa 1810. This Regency Period (1800-1820) set is in quite good condition for its age! We have not seen another set like this and diligent research has not turned one up. The style -- full-bodied women in Greek dress surrounded by children -- along with the bat-printing, sparkling pink/mulberry trim and approximate age of the set, suggest that it is by Buck. But it could be in his style. Most pieces from this time are unsigned. Both the teacup and the saucer are trimmed with a sparkling pink/mulberry trim. Adam Buck (or Adam Buck style) classic images of Faith and Hope are bat-printed onto the teacup and are in excellent condition. The pink/mulberry trim at the bottom of the cup is in very nice shape, with minimal rubbing. The top trim and band inside the teacup do show wear and the pink/mulberry on the handle also shows some rubbing. The deep saucer features Charity in Greek dress, surrounded by children. There are two scratches on the image, but there is no rubbing and the image is otherwise in excellent shape. The three bands of pink/mulberry trim are also in good shape, in better shape than would be expected of a piece its age. Under magnification, there are some imperfections not visible to the naked eye. As with most porcelain pieces of this era, both the teacup and the saucer are unmarked. Please see pictures for further detail. Pictures constitute a material part of the description. Dimensions:Teacup: 2 ¼” high, mouth 3 ½”Deep Saucer: 1 ¼” high, 5 ¾” wide
