Keep the patina as is or shine it up with a good polish. It is an ornate masterpiece with superb craftsmanship in a very very rare large size! It is a heavy and solid piece, with normal wear (see pictures of the edges where the brass trim has shifted). It is perfect for display with the attached brass hanging hook or as a large tray/staging layer with things stacked on it, or as my favorite, an Ottoman or coffee table top.
