Description: An original French rise & fall ceiling light, a beautiful piece of period lighting dating from the early 20th century which we have re-wired and restored with an opaline milk glass coolie shade. The little ceramic pulleys allow the shade to be raised and lowered easily, and these lights were often found over parlour tables in old French houses. The ceramic bulbholder and gallery are also of the period, but the wiring is modern. Retracted, the light measures approx 65cm from the rose to the bottom of the shade. Fully extended, the light descends down to approx 1.30cm, but you can alter this if you decide to extend or cut the flex. The shade measures approx 25.5cm diameter. The counterweight is filled with its original lead shot.
