OCLC attributes authorship to Charles Cordell, an influential English Catholic priest, academic, and bibliophile. Scarce in the trade, with few auction records; presumably much scarcer than Anglican volumes from the period, given the much smaller population of English Catholics during the period (as compared with Anglicans). OCLC records just over a dozen holdings of the whole set.
