Description: Royal CrownfordCHARLOTTE or Charlotte's Basket of RosesRed Polychrome TransferwareHot Water or Tea Pot with LidVERY UNIQUE & IN EXCELLENT CONDITION Description & Condition: Pretty red polychrome transferware design by Royal Crownford called "Charlotte" or "Charlotte's Rose Basket" made in Staffordshire, England. Pattern is very similar to one by Clarice Cliff and Alfred Meakin. This unique round ball teapot or hot water pot has a yellow creamy color base with a red polychrome coloration to the transfer. Pretty dimensional rope or basketry design on handle and around pot. Lid has a half moon cut out for pour. Maker mark on base is in red and the number "778" is underglaze. Size: 6-3/4" tall with lid on Condition: Previously owned, Very Good to Excellent condition. Absolutely no chips, cracks, stains, repairs, utensil marks. Some crazing can be seen from age and temperature change. Has a small glaze manufacturer defect near base of pitcher. Cannot be seen while sitting flat.
