The plates are decorated and signed by Robert Allen,who was ahighly regardedpattern designer and artist for many years at Royal Doulton. Collectors out there will be pleased to find this set in wonderful condition and each plate signed and dated c1906. The luncheon plate featurea rose &forget-me-notpattern with gold gilding and a green foliage band to the centre. Condition: Good used vintage condition commensurate for age and use. The gilding, colour and pattern is still very good. No discolouration, crazing, cracks or chips to any. Some scratches here and there to the surface, pictured. Still lovely after 100 years plus! Aprized, collectable set for high tea or display.... Robert Allen joined Royal Doulton in the 1870s andearned his reputation as a distinguished ceramic artist. Heoperatedasuccessful design studio under his own name and produced numerous patterns and designs for Royal Doulton. He finally retired inthe 1920s.
