Description: Vintage postcard: TAGALOG NATIVES, PHILIPPINE ISLANDS, a couple, wearing gorgeously detailed hemp clothing, 1940. The message on the back describes them: "Davao, PI, Nov 11 1940...They are [Tagalogs]; their clothes are woven of hemp; all hand made by the woman and the design brought out by native dyes from trees, roots, etc. Their weapons, spear and several bolos". Rare - I can't find any other examples of it for sale online, or even in the last 15 years of completed auctions. Condition is G+ (several heavy wrinkles and a 1-inch chip from the right edge has been tape-repaired on the back).
