It was his first on the label and he had three more before he hit pay dirt. Strangely enough the original gave producer credit to Curly Walter, even though it is the same recording. Also, Alan Lorber was given arrangement credit. Mike Hurst, an English singer, composer and producer, had recorded the song himself a year earlier (’65) and released it as a B-side on one of his Philips 45’s.
