Description: These vintage linen Depler Santa cocktail napkins are almost as pristine as the day they were made. That is because they have been stored in their original sleeved binder since their purchase. I would have taken them out to photograph; but they have been secured with a simple stitch in each corner to hold them until first use. As noted on the album cover — these approx. 8 by 5 Christmas napkins are “Hand screen printed, fine Irish linen”. The renowned creator and artist, Constance Depler (now 80 years of age) first gained recognition in the 1950s with her signature style which personifies animals (mostly dogs). Each napkin brings a smile to my face. Depler certainly had a sense of humor when creating these different sides of humans dressed as Santa. I can picture these being a fun way to present a beverage to a guest. Out of the box ideas might be to place them under a glass topped table; place them in easel-backed frames to highlight a cocktail bar set-up; or close pin them to a ribbon to hang on a wall. They are worthy of display due to their historical art reference. CHEERS!
