With a single cassette, recordings in five different formats can be made on the same roll of film. A special mechanism ensures that images never overlap when changing formats. The counter shows the remaining amount of film in centimeters. The captive format roller blind opens by turning a handy knob exactly as far as is necessary for the preselected image format. Locks make it impossible to accidentally open the blind if the cassette is not inserted into the camera back. On Sinar cameras built after 1983, an additional safety device even prevents the Sinar zoom cassette from being removed from the rear panel with the roller blind open. All
