This cube has a smooth over slightly brushed texture as can be seen in the photos. Zirconium does not absorb neutrons, making it an ideal material for use in nuclear power stations. More than 90% of zirconium is used in this way. Nuclear reactors can have more than 100,000 metres of zirconium alloy tubing. With niobium, zirconium is superconductive at low temperatures and is used to make superconducting magnets. Zirconium metal is protected by a thin oxide layer making it exceptionally resistant to corrosion by acids, alkalis and seawater. For this reason it is extensively used by the chemical industry. Weighs 7.4 ounces (211.5-213 gm), a beautiful size for a cabinet display and an amazing addition for your collection. Physical Characteristics: Color is gray metalic Luster is metallic. Better than expected; Awesome Seller; Highly Recommend!! Payment "Buy It Now" is the sure way to purchase any item you want. If you wish to make an offer, however, please do so well before the end of the auction. I am often at gem shows, meeting with lapidaries, and otherwise researching the fine stones and components I use and sell. I want very much to respond to your offers, but I can only do so a few times a day. Thank you, and happy bidding! Shipping I will happily combine shipping for you! Items with free shipping are always free, and items with calculated shipping will be weighed and a best estimate made for actual shipping costs. eBay's automatic calculation engine does not do a good job of calculating combined shipping costs, so if you anticipate winning two or more items, send me a note and I will happily estimate the combined shipping for you. All items are well packaged for protection to ensure your purchase gets to you in perfect condition. Shipping charges include these materials, plus the actual cost of postage.
