Description: Signed AC Lochmann Copy 1926. Very nice memento from the Springfield Fire and Marine casualty company chartered in Springfield, Mass. in 1846. Titled "Going West," this is a depiction of the same huge oil painting that was on the lobby wall of the Monarch Life Insurance company on 1250 State Street, Spfld, Mass. Shows a conestoga wagon at dusk pulled by 4 very muscular oxen driven by an ox driver with a whip followed by a chapped cowboy wearing a 10 gallon hat on horseback cradling a rifle. This would have hung in one of the branch offices. 22 3/4" by 15 1/2" in the frame. Very nice original condition. Some guilding paint losses. Never been reframed.
