Description: This is a new, vintage, Standard Electric Timer Model S-10 Precision Timer. This has been tested and is in good working order. The company information and parts sheet is dated January 1958. This timer displays the total elapsed time that an electrical device is turned on. This can be multiple stops and starts. This has a reset arm which will return the hands to the "0" position. This reset can be used when the timer is running, multiple times if needed, to accurately calibrate a start time. This will read in 1/100ths of a second. This can be used in the darkroom to control lighting. It can be used with any electrical device where an AC on/off elapsed time is desired. In order for the reset arm to work, this needs a 24 volt DC supply, as well as the AC for elapsed timing. I arranged a test setup to test the timer. The 24 volts DC is shown in the later pictures, provided by a regulated DC power supply. This is providing 24 volts DC to the two blue wires. The polarity is not important. This is for a solenoid clutch that allows the reset to work. If the AC is plugged in, and there is no 24 volts DC, nothing will happen, it will not work, but no harm either. The DC power supply shows a current draw of about 140 milliamps at 24 volts DC. This could be provided by a battery. This was run many times, and worked flawlessly. This is a panel mounted unit, and is 5 3/4 inches square. There is no original box, only the original company data bulletin, Bulletin No. 192-D, dated January 1958.
