The answer is, "I would." I'm very comfortable at edges of cliffs. I don't pick usual camp sites. I very rarely camp in areas where other people have camped before. Usually, camp sites are sheltered areas that are level and comfortable to walk around in. I camp where I can enjoy where I am. I like to look around at the landscape around me. I like to climb. I like high places. And I've camped here. I've actually looked at my campfire at this location from this angle.I made a conscious decision to make this image different from the other two campfire prints. It's not the same size. The season is different. You're not looking at it the same way. I've replaced this campfire in a larger landscape. My approach this time was to see the campfire's place in the environment around it. It's not like you're sitting there warming your hands, as in the other two. You're on the next ridge over, looking across the gap. It's eleven at night. The campfire is a radiant source of light, illuminating the area around the camp, while the enetire area is lit by moonlight as well. This effect was particularly fun to do." - Stephen Lyman, died in 1996 from a hiking accident in Yosemite National Park at age 38.
