This is Swamp Ash Fraxinus Nigra "Black Ash", a true Northern Swamp Ash species unlike the harder White Ash. 2.0 inches thick, 23.0 long and 15.0 wide so plenty of material to remove the bark edges on the back side but I left it wide for you to have more to work with. The grain on this one will be outstanding and will have a lot of figured effects when finished. They are rough planed but should be planed and jointed one pass on your jointer before glue up. Great wood that is now sadly on endangered status soon to be gone because of the Emerald Ash Borer infestation. Get it while you can!
