Description: Folio Society’s three-volume set entitled THE AGE OF ILLUMINATION, covering art, architecture, and society in Western Europe and Byzantium in the medieval period. BYZANTINE ART AND CIVILIZATION is by Steven Runciman. EARLY MEDIEVAL ART AND CIVILIZATION and GOTHIC ART AND CIVILIZATION are both by George Henderson. All three volumes have sprayed gold top edges, as well as photos and illustrations throughout. Books are all in great condition. Their bindings are all tight, possibly never even read. Clean pages with no aging on the edges. Slipcase is structurally great, but has a few scuffs and one slightly dented corner, as pictured. None of these will show if the set is displayed with the book spines or the illustrated slipcase side out. Please let me know if you have any questions.
