Very Good+, 1995 Coming of Age Press (Austin) hardcover (pictorial boards) & dust jacket (new), first edition, assumed 1st printing. Sweet color illustrations by Martha Howard Moore. There's nothing really bad about this book - just pre-read and I wish the binding could be a bit better, but it's not bad. Difficult to classify. BTW, this is not a novel by Stephen King - Amazon seems to think it is. The Author, Dr. Greg Biehle, is a practicing Vet in Austin. CONTENT: Dr. Brown always does his best for the sick & injured animals at the Pet Hospital, healing most of them. But, occasionally one comes to him so gravely ill that he can only do his best to make it comfortable. Miraculously, though, many very sick animals don't die; they pull through, and Dr. Brown suspects unseen help. He doesn't know about Gladys the spider, his tiniest volunteer. Every evening her Night Shift comes on duty. Scurrying around the hospital, they reassure frightened, lonely creatures, and ensure they take the medication Dr. Brown has prescribed.
