Singler, the Final Four's most outstanding player, scored 17 points, Scheyer 15 and Smith 13 against a Butler team whose defense had suffocated its opponents throughout the tournament. The Bulldogs, behind 33-year-old head coach Brad Stevens, maintained their "Butler Way" style of play with stingy defense and balanced scoring against Duke.
