Description: Offered here is " The Pageant of Chinese History: From 3000 B.C. to the Founding of the Republic " by Elizabeth Seeger, in a second edition published by Longmans, Green and Co. in 1944. This edition is illustrated by Bernard Watkins, and includes black and white illustrations and maps. This hardcover book is in Good Plus condition. Red cloth-covered boards with black title and illustration to front cover and black title to spine. Very minimal shelf wear and edge wear to the somewhat dished boards, more so to the corners. Light sun-fading to the spine with bumping at the edges. Book block has deckled edges on one side. There is light foxing and age-tanning on the block and on the edges of the pages within. Paste-downs and free endpapers have some off-setting from the dust jacket. Otherwise pages are clean and unmarked. The illustrated color dust jacket is unclipped, and is in Very Good condition for its age. The dust jacket shows some shelf wear, more so to the back cover. There is edge wear with slight tears and loss of material to the corners and edges of the spine. The spine is sun-faded and has a quarter-inch chip. The dust jacket interior is age-tanned with foxing along the creases. Spine is sun-faded. Please see accompanying photographs, which are of the actual item you will receive.
