Begun in 1956 by Detroit teenager Charles Brooks, by the early 1960's SH had become a finely printed bi-monthly periodical under the leadership of L. A. Isenberg (briefly) and Charles Brooks with noted collector Frank Nagy serving as associate editor. SH later included an editorial board consisting of Charles "Buck" Barker, Lionel Carter and Wirt Gammon. Gammon was a sports editor in real life and actually collected T206 cards as they were being issued, 1909-1911.
