Author Biography Min. Julinda is Artistic Director of Sarahs Sisters, a worship arts ministry for women aged 50+, Senior Director of the Ayinde2 Children and co-founder and co-director of the Ayinde (adult) Liturgical Dancers at Saint Pauls Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia. Julinda grew up in Brooklyn, New York and studied dance with George Faison, Fred Benjamin, Eleo Pomare, Maurice Hines, Ella Moore and Pepsi Bethel and at Dance Theatre of Harlem and Clark Center for the Performing Arts. Julinda earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in Dance and Dance Education from New York University, a Master of Science in Early Childhood Education from Brooklyn College, and has been a dance and theater critic for more than 30 years. She is the author of a young readers biography, Alvin Ailey: A Life in Dance, and editor of Black Choreographers Moving Towards the 21st Century. Julinda completed course work for a PhD in Educational Leadership at VCU (ABD - all but dissertation) then studied liturgical dance at Calvary Bible Institute and Seminary (Martinez, GA) where she was ordained in 2009, and with TEN (The Eagles Network) and EITI (Eagles International Training Institute - School of Dance) from which she was licensed in Word and Technique in 2012. Julinda is employed by Richmond City Public Schools Programs for the Gifted and is a Dance and Theatre Reviewer for The Richmond Times-Dispatch, in addition to being an Adjunct Instructor for the Department of Dance and Choreography at Virginia Commonwealth University. Julindas most daring accomplishments to date have been acquiring a motorcycle license and completing a 12-mile rafting trip on a Girl Scout trip in Northeastern Oklahoma.
