Description: David McCabe 2023 Rome Braves Game Worn & Signed Bruce Bolt Batting Gloves - Also Worn in Arizona Fall League! David McCabe is a first baseman/ third baseman in the Atlanta Braves organization. He was drafted in the 4th Round of the 2022 MLB Draft by the Braves. He is currently the Atlanta Braves 3rd Ranked Infielder, 14th Ranked Overall Prospect. He played college baseball at UNC Charlotte. In his junior year at UNC Charlotte, the 49ers hired hitting coach Phil Cebuhar. He was a big influence on McCabe and with his guidance, McCabe became a more disciplined hitter at the plate. McCabe said "“My approach is just, I wait until I can swing at a pitch that I can do damage on. And if I can't do damage, then it's not worth swinging, whether it's a strike or a ball, but something I can do damage on is what I want to swing at.” That shift allowed the switch-hitter to post a 1.297 OPS with more walks than strikeouts in his junior year at UNC Charlotte, helping him land in the fourth round of the 2022 Draft. He also hit 30 homers in 283 at-bats (9.4 AB/HR) over his final two collegiate seasons. He clearly brought it with him to the pro game, with his approach helping him hit 17 homers across two levels of A ball in his first full season. He also produced a 15.3 percent walk rate thanks to 80 free passes over 524 plate appearances. That led to a .385 on-base percentage. He also knocked in 75 RBI's for an .835 OPS. At the completion of the 2023 Minor League Baseball Season, McCabe was chosen by the Atlanta Braves to participate in the Arizona Fall League. The Arizona Fall League is an off-season sports league owned and operated by Major League Baseball which operates during the autumn in Arizona, United States, at six different baseball complexes.
