Description: This is a one-of-a-kind product that utilizes a set of nine cards (or six or three depending on which cards) from the 1993 Marvel Universe Series 4 (Series IV) set that connect together to form a larger image. What we have done is used a very small amount of glue and tape in order to secure the cards together as accurately as possible to create an (almost) seamless version of these renowned cards. This is something that I have been dreaming of doing since I was a kid in the 90s. I was always very annoyed about the large gaps between images when placed in 3-ring binder sheets. We purchased a set of near-mint 1993 Marvel Universe cards specifically for this project, and will be releasing more versions in the future. This was made by hand and meticulously pieced together to get the image as close as possible. As a result of prioritizing connecting lines over connecting card edges, there will be minor gaps or overlaps. These gaps are a result of minor manufacturing imperfections in regards to centering from one card to the next. We have done our best to mitigate these imperfections without altering the cards in any way (we considered using exacto knives to trim overhang but decided not to damage the cards). The frames are 8.5x11 or 8x8 and are acryllic. They are originally designed for displays at retail stores, but after lots of trial and error we found this to be a good option for these cheaper cards. The frame/display is also free-standing and transparent on both sides, allowing you to turn it around and read the backs of the cards any time you wish. The cards are NOT designed to be separated. If you're just interested in the cards by themselves then just pick up a full set of the 93 Marvel Universe, which usually runs about $50 to $70 shipped. These frames are NOT UV-blocking, so we recommend keeping this out of direct sunlight to avoid discoloration of cards. We do plan to offer UV-blocking versions of this product in the future with more valuable cards. There will be some minor glue/tape on the back side of the cards to hold them together, but we've used clear dry glue and the thinnest and clearest tape we could find. We've done lots of testing with these and have found these are the best methods. We didn't want to hide the back of the cards though, since there is more art and information on the backs. We considered using more traditional frames to hide the methods of connecting the cards, but decided against it. Product will be dropped off at USPS within 24 hours of ordering and shipped through the North Houston distribution center. It will come wrapped and packed to protect in transit. The frame/display will be separated from the base for shipping, and you will need to reattach them together. Local pickup is available in North Houston near the Woodlands Mall.
