Rare "parlor hall tree" with the double or side by side seats. Both beautiful and very well made item. Made about the 1890s or early 1900s.Carved lion heads decorate this piece. Outstanding tiger (or quarter sawn) oak was used in the construction. Demilune shaped rounded front. Well thought out design with a mirror, beautiful hooks for hanging items, two seats to put on / take off your shoes, a glove box which is perfect for keys, and a storage area under the seat.It is an extremely versatile piece of furniture. Although the original intention of this item was by the entrance of the house, have seen them used in creative ways: bedroom, large bathroom, etc.Was professionally refinished many decades ago. It has an older restoration job which is still in good condition. Some color variations in the finish, age related wood shrinkage, small marks, scratches etc..
