Description: PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION AND SEE ALL PHOTOS!!! Beautiful true vintage 1930s black velvet and blue bias cut gown by “ Brucewood Maurice L Rothschild “ with original tags. This gown is beautiful and is in great condition considering its age. (Please read condition section for specific details). This dress has a blue satin like or possibly a taffeta fabric detailing it around the bottom hem and on the belt. It appears as if the bottom hem may have been taken up at some point, there is about 2-3 inches of seam allowance around the bottom hem. There is a matching belt made of the same 2 fabrics and the sae metal and rhinestone closures. The dress looks amazing with and without the belt. There are two belt loops on either side of the dress. In the right side of the dress (if you’re looking at the dress from the photos) there is 4 hidden clasp closures and one hook and eye closure near the belt loop on that side. Photos #4, #16, #17. This dress has gorgeous long and large bishop sleeves (these are stuffed for the purpose of the photos) they have button/ clasp closures on the wrist. There are silver metallic and rhinestone details throughout the dress, near the boatneck neckline which hold two slit details together, on the back of the dress, just below the neck, and the belt. Some of these are missing stones in them but it is hardly noticeable at all. There is original labels inside of this dress, one main one which says Brucewood Maurice L Rothschild and has a colorful bird on it. There are also two tags on either shoulder, which I believe to be hanger holders, used to hold the dress securely onto a hanger, which each say Brucewood. On of these is attached by a safety pin but he other is still sewn in. MEASURMENTS- Chest- 33in Waist- 27 in Hips- 35.5 in Total length- 46.5 in Sleeve length- 29 in Wrist size for cuffs- 6.5 in Belt size- 28.5 in CONDITION- please see all photos and READ!!- i did my best to take photos of everything however i ran out of photo pece but i tried to get everything included and as good photos as possible. It was difficult to get more detailed photos of the dress because of the velvet fabric, it is hard to capture on camera. This dress is in great condition for its age being about 90 years old, however there are some flaws but none or detrimental to the dress. The fabric is pretty thin however it is uniform throughout the entire dress so i do not think this is a result of age but i do find it important to mention. You cannot see through it if it is on a body/ mannequin but you are able to see light through it (see photo #21). Some of the metallic silver colored clasps are missing rhinestones. I also believe there was one 3 of these rhinestone clasps on either side of the neckline/ shoulder area but now there is only 2 on each side. It is hardly noticeable at all unless you are looking closely. (See photos #10 and #11). There are some loose threads / seams in this dress. I only noticed 3 main spots throughout the whole dress, please see photos #22, #23, and #24. The is one that is on the back of the dress and has a few splits but this is barely noticeable unless you actually pull the fabric apart/ make it tight. There is another on the side of the dress near the bottom. There are a few loose threads, especially in areas like the side closure, and the back button closure. Nothing is falling out of these it just seems like messy stitching. See photos #15, #16, #19, #20.
